Dare to Dance - About Us
My name is Michele Enthoven, and I have been teaching for the past 18 years. Growing up I learnt to dance at the Karen Owen School of Dance, studying the BBO (British Ballet Organisation) Syllabii.
I graduated in Bachelor of Arts (Dance) from Adelaide University in 1995 and gained my teaching qualification through the BBO in 2001 where I was a member for more than 15 years. I first started Dare to Dance back in 2001 where I taught classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and National Character.
In 2005 the BBDS was introduced and Dare to Dance became a registered school. After having 2 children I made the difficult decision to cut back my time and decided to continue in 2007 as a Hip Hop only school.
Over the years we have achieved a 100% pass rate in our yearly exams, both BBO and BBDS. Exams are not compulsory but are encouraged for those that wish to take them.
We do not compete in competitions. I have always felt that young students should be encouraged to perform and develop their talent and individual style in a non competitive relaxed environment.
We do have an End of Year Concert, where the students get to showcase what they have been learning for the year and the students work hard to put on a professional and entertaining performance.
